Parsons, an entrepreneur and millionaire-businessman, is transforming the course, now rebranded Scottsdale National Golf Club. He’s adding a new 18-hole championship golf course, a Par 3 executive course, overnight lodging for members, underground parking, and a new clubhouse! The new clubhouse will be 175,000 square feet and roughly the size of a department store. It’s set to feature expanded dining areas, locker rooms, and a bigger pro shop that will feature Parson’s own brand of clubs.
Parsons also purchased hundreds of acres of adjacent land in 2014, bringing his facility a total of 650 acres, with the golf course bordering the McDowell Sonoran Preserve on three of the four sides.
What sets this golf course apart from the rest is the sheer amount of luxury and exclusivity. It’s not part of any master-planned subdivision, instead is bordered by the beautiful McDowell Mountains. Members pay $25,000 per year, $850 in monthly dues, and a $100 service fee for every round of golf. The newly renovated club limits member play to 30 times per year and is closed during the scorching Arizona summers.
