25 Steps to Home Buying During the Holidays #24

Should You Take Your Home Off the Market for the Holidays?
          According to Zillow:

        1. Not necessarily. Today’s buyers check the listings 24×7. They’re driving to work with their morning coffee, they’re checking their phone at stoplights, and late night after kids are tucked in bed when they have a few spare minutes to look through Facebook.
        2. Inventory for good homes tightens this time of year.
        3. Motivated buyers can move in between Thanksgiving and Christmas
        4. Demand for homes can increase at a time when inventory is traditionally low.

Step 24

You’re now a homeowner! Share with all your family and friends let them know how excited you are with your new home, so they can join in and celebrate.

Let your family know you’ve found a new home, and be sure to change your address with the post office and on your driver’s license. This is a time to celebrate and show off your new abode.

EG:

Spiff Up the House

Unlike other parties, guest will expect to see most of the rooms in your house during the house tour. Before you give them a tour, be sure that each room is spotless, no laundry is left on the floor and that the trash has been taken out.

Keep it Casual

Save the fancy cocktail party for another gathering. Your guests will likely be more comfortable in their casual attire, and besides, your floors may thank you for saving them from the effects of high heels and wooden soles.

Write Thank You Notes

Always remember to be a gracious host and send “Thank you” cards to all of your guests after the party. Keep it simple and buy a small card that will only fit a few lines of text. Be casual and genuine – now’s the time to let them know that you hope to see them again  and thank them for your housewarming gifts!
Keep the celebrating going by continuing to share your new home with your Facebook and Instagram friends.

25 Steps to Home Buying During the Holidays #23

Should You Take Your Home Off the Market for the Holidays?
          According to Zillow:

        1. Not necessarily. Today’s buyers check the listings 24×7. They’re driving to work with their morning coffee, they’re checking their phone at stoplights, and late night after kids are tucked in bed when they have a few spare minutes to look through Facebook.

        3. Motivated buyers can move in between Thanksgiving and Christmas
        4. Demand for homes can increase at a time when inventory is traditionally low.

Step 23

Close on your new home and sign the title documents.

According to the Home Buying Institute, these are the specific things that happen on closing day:
1.) The buyer will provide a check for the amount owed toward the purchase of the home.
2.) The seller will sign the deed over to the buyer. This act officially transfers ownership.
3.) The title company will register the new deed with the appropriate government offices, highlighting the buyer as the new homeowner.

Once this is complete you will meet with your realtor and get the keys to your new home.
